Piet Brouwer Elektrotechniek finds its roots in the historic island of Urk, which has existed for more than 1,000 years. The livelihood of the island has always been inextricably bound to fishing, which has seen periods of prosperity and those of loss. In 1939, the salt water of the Zuiderzee became the sweet water of IJsselmeer. Urk seemed doomed, however, the people of Urk showed innovation, flexibility, and an enterprising spirit. Their ingenuity and work ethic paved the road to success, and economic stability was achieved.

Forty-nine years ago Piet Brouwer founded a company aligned with the values of the island. The company began with electrical installations in fishing ships, but soon expanded to mega yachts and other seagoing vessels. Every project completed by Piet Brouwer Elektrotechniek is a made to order custom installation.
