In the picture: lead engineer Kees Visser

june 19th 2017: Kees Visser applied to join Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology in 2000, right after completing his education in electrical engineering. “One shot, one goal – I was accepted straight away!” he recalls. Kees wanted to keep his skills honed even after getting a job, however, and he spent two years attending an apprenticeship for first engineer, which involved going to school one day per week and spending the remaining four days at Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology. He also attended several courses internally so as to stay up to date in a variety of disciplines.

The function of lead engineer within the Piet Brouwer team is very diverse: one day Kees might act as a project manager, and the next he is responsible for the commissioning of a project. He also sometimes works as a service or installation engineer. “I’ve spent 17 years at Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them all. There is such a diversity of activities and responsibilities within the company and no two days are the same.” When asked which Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology project he remembers the most, Kees cannot name just one. “I found the shipbuilding projects on which I worked to be particularly unique and interesting. Every boat comprises a solid amount of technology which we, as the e-supplier, integrate in our package. Together with our software partner Marble Automation, we always come to the right solution.” The first words that occur to Kees when he thinks about Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology are: multifaceted, insightful and economical. “Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology’s long history and involvement in so many segments of the sector have let us build a huge knowhow that we can use in various markets. This gives us a very special position in the market, where Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology occupies a unique niche.”
