Works starts on MS Eastern Rock

24 february, 2019: Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology expects to start work on MS Eastern Rock in the port of Urk soon. As the successor to MS Western Rock, this will be the third vessel in the series and the 11th built by Hartman Shipbuilding.

MS Eastern Rock will be almost 93 metres long and have a roll-on roll-off system that allows cargo to be brought directly onboard without the use of a crane, as well as an open top enabling her to sail partly with open hatches.

Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology will provide the engineering, delivery and installation for the entire electrical system on this vessel and will supply the lighting package, navigation lights, fire detection system, tank measurement system & sensors and bow & sternthruster engines including control and internal communication systems. Piet Brouwer’s sister company Marble Automation will supply the alarm and monitoring system.

The engineering and panels are already prepared and the Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology team is ready to get started. The Hartman R2 Carrier, with a DWT of 3285 tonnes, is expected to be delivered at the end of May.
