August 31th, 2018: In Hoogezand in the Dutch province of Groningen, a team from Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has enthusiastically started work on the first of four Bodewes Trader vessels. The Scheepswerf Royal Bodewes yard commissioned us to provide the full range of electrical systems on board four of its vessels of the type Bodewes Trader ‘Dry Cargo’. The vessels vary in length from 80 to 100 metres and have a DWT of around 5,000 tonnes. The first of the Bodewes Traders will be completed in the autumn of 2019.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology will supply the full electrical package for these vessels, including engineering, switchboards and bridge consuls. We will also provide axle generators, bowthruster drives, bowthruster engines and fire detection systems, while our sister company Marble Automation will supply the alarm and monitoring systems.
TX-65
After a successful build and smooth sea trials, the shrimp trawler TX-65 Bona Fide entered service in early August. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology took care of the design, delivery and installation of all the electrical systems, which were focused on reliability, safety and simplicity. Piet Brouwer’s sister company Marble Automation delivered the alarm and monitoring systems. The trawler was built by VCU/TCD from Urk and has the distinction of being the first completely new trawler launched on the island in recent years. Click here for a video of the TX-65.
