19 february, 2019: Albert Romkes and the main contractor Hoekman Shipbuilding have commissioned Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology for the electrical system on the new twin rigger UK-24 Zuiderkruis.

Piet Brouwer will provide the entire system, including the alarm, fire detection and lighting package, as well as comprehensive system integration.

Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has a long-standing relationship with the Romkes family, for whom it has worked on a range of new projects and refits over the years, including the UK-2, UK-22 and the former UK-24. “We are very proud to receive another assignment from Albert Romkes and Klaas Hoekman and look forward to the execution of the project here in the port of Urk,” stated the management of Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology. The hull of the UK-24 will be built in Poland this year and the outfitting will start after the summer, with completion due in 2020.
