July 5, 2021: The Talma Haven care centre in Urk was built in 1990 and has now been in use for over 30 years. Lots has changed in the health care sector over the decades, including the regulations and clientele. To address these developments Talma Haven has been busy with a staged renovation and modernisation programme since 2016.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has been commissioned by the Talma Haven Urk health care foundation to perform various tasks over the years. In 2016 we created several living rooms in the North Wing, and renovated the residents’ quarters. The same activities were realised in the South Wing in 2019.
Most recently it was time to upgrade the catering kitchen. As with the previous projects, Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology enjoys the complete confidence of the Board in our ability to modernise the entire kitchen. The layout is being adapted to the latest requirements, the electrical and mechanical systems renewed and the kitchen equipment replaced. A temporary catering unit outside the building will provide for the residents’ needs while the renovations are taking place.
The team from Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology see it as a personal challenge to realise all these activities with as little nuisance for the care home residents as possible.
