In 2013 Piet Brouwer Power Solutions was responsible for the complete turnkey installation of a power supply plant and primary distribution for a new beer brewery close to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. Over the past nine years our engineers have regularly flown to the site to carry out maintenance work.
The most recent project involved a partnership with the brewery’s technical staff to overhaul ‘Diesel Generator 1’. The revision meant that the ‘top deck’ of the generator had to be taken off and cleaned, which included removing the cylinder heads and checking whether any needed replacing. All other key parts such as the turbos were also inspected and replaced if required. With the activities now complete the generator is again working at its full capacity of 15,000 hours.
