Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology successfully adapted the electrical system of the fishing trawler HD36 as part of the vessel’s rebuild. A cut has been made into the vessel just forward of the aft bulkhead of the fish hold to prepare for the 2.7-metre extension. The work included the dismantling and extending of existing electrical components and connecting of new ones. All cables leading from the aft to the forward section of the boat were pulled back to the forward part of the engine room, where junction boxes were fitted to link the new cables leading to the foreship. The lighting cables leading from the engine room to the forward mast were replaced and new cables are laid to the forward segment of the engine room for the two radars and the antenna cables in the forward mast. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology’s subsidiary Marble Automation delivered a new stainless steel control box with touchscreen for operating the fish processing installation.
