During the frequent short power outages that affect the electricity grid in this region, the lithium-ion battery UPS ensures an uninterrupted power supply, maintaining the continuity of the packaging process.<\\\/p>\\n<!-- \\\/wp:paragraph -->\\n\\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\\n<p>In 2025, the Power Solutions team installed a second lithium-ion UPS with a capacity of 800 kVA at this location. The new installation consists of a 1000 kVA containerised diesel generator that is placed on deck and supplies the desludging system with power. In addition, a 1000 kVA step-up transformer provides 15 kV for the suction pump system, which is connected to the desludging system via a floating cable. The brewery was fully operational by the end of 2014.<\\\/p>\\n<p>The Ethiopian beer market \\u2013 which is relatively new \\u2013 was quickly impressed and the brewery had no problems meeting the high demands. This success was partly due to the intelligent and efficient power plant and distribution supplied by Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology.<\\\/p>\\n<p>It has been decided to expand the brewery and to double the production capacity. Thanks to the excellent quality, ability to meet deadlines and good cooperation during the original construction, Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has again been asked to take on this task. Having successfully partnered with the brewery on various other projects, Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology was asked to participate.<\\\/p>\\n<p>Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology supplied a fully automated power plant of 4 MVA consisting of two 2MVA generator sets, all fuel and cooling circuits, two step-up transformers and an MV distributor. The power plant features fully automatic synchronisation with intelligent power management to ensure energy is produced in the most efficient way. In addition, we supplied and installed the complete medium voltage distribution for the brewery, as well as all step-down transformers and low voltage distribution.
