Having completed his studies in electrotechnology and ICT management, Mark started his career at Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology sixteen years ago as a warehouse employee. This made him the third generation of his family to have a working relationship with the company. \u201cPiet Brouwer worked for my grandfather when he was young until he started his own business. Years later, my father came to work for Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology, and he enjoyed his time there very much until his death in 2003. It made me proud to join the company in 2006 in the position my dad had held in the warehouse.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back then the warehouse was run by just two people. The team was later expanded with an extra warehouse employee and several years on Mark became warehouse manager. \u201cI enjoyed working in the warehouse all of these years.\u201d Mark still has fond memories of the first Power Solutions projects. \u201cThe warehouse is indirectly involved in all projects, but the arrival of Power Solutions brought us extra challenges. We had to handle large-scale transports, purchase a much broader portfolio of products and deal with regulations related to transportation to various countries. It was great to be involved in this all.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In early 2022 Mark was appointed operational manager at Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology and became part of the management team. In this position he\u2019s responsible for everything related to the electrotechnical projects, including ICT, the ERP system, building management for the head office on Urk, the vehicle fleet and coordination of the trainees. He is also the first point of contact for all colleagues, assesses the company work processes and strives for constant improvement. \u201cObviously I also try to make sure that everyone can do their work in the most enjoyable way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark starts his working days with an hour of crossfit before arriving at his desk bright and early at 07:15 \u201cEvery day is different and brings interesting new challenges. I try to walk round the business daily to make sure I get a feel for what\u2019s happening on the work floor and ensure I\u2019m available as a point of contact to all staff.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driven, flexible and unique are how Mark would describe Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology in three words. \u201cThe strength of Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology lies in its flexibility. With regard to service, we are always available to support our clients. And our large warehouse makes our company truly unique \u2013 with over 9000 items in stock at all times we can always respond quickly. Even other companies and private individuals know how to find us when they require specific electrotechnical products.\u201cPiet Brouwer Electrotechnology offers its people the opportunity to develop, the work is extremely varied, and there is a great atmosphere among co-workers. One of my most memorable experiences was the company trip to Barcelona. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend several days there with my colleagues, enjoying the Spanish culture, sunshine and delicious Spanish cuisine.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
