july 7th 2017: MS Baltic is the ninth vessel built by Hartman Shipbuilding, and the first of a new series which includes a number of major changes compared to the previous one. Highlights include the bridge accommodation being moved forward to enable a Ro/Ro (roll-on/roll-off) door aft – this means cargo can be driven on board without the need to use an extra crane.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology realised the engineering, installation and delivery of the complete electrical system on board, including the following elements:
- Alarm system
- Lighting package
- Navigation lighting
- Fire detection system
- Tank gauging system and sensors
- Bowthruster and sternthruster engines and controls
- Internal communication systems
In addition, subsidiary Marble Automation supplied the alarm and monitoring system. The installation of the systems is currently being finalised, and the engineers from Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology have made a start with commissioning.
