De Aasvaer – Hybrid Eco Trader

On October 16, 2025, De Aasvaer, a Hybrid Eco Trader, was officially transferred to Aasen Company. This modern cargo ship is equipped with electric PTI/PTO support on the propeller shaft, enabling it to sail completely emission-free over a limited distance. Thanks to this technology, fuel consumption is significantly reduced and the ship contributes to more sustainable and efficient shipping.

The hybrid system was supplied by Wärtsilä, while Piet Brouwer Elektrotechniek was responsible for the entire electrical installation on board. This included the power distribution, control and propulsion systems, and the integration of the hybrid system into the ship’s design.

With the successful electrical installation of De Aasvaer, Piet Brouwer Elektrotechniek confirms its role in sustainable maritime technology. This project is an excellent example of how innovation, reliability, and craftsmanship come together in a future-proof and environmentally friendly ship.
