Efficient and safe transport thanks to innovative roll-on/roll-off technology.
The Polar Rock is the fourth ship in a series that Piet Brouwer Elektrotechniek has equipped for Hartman Seatrade. These ships are designed for Ro-Ro transport (roll-on/roll-off), whereby cargo units are driven directly on board via a wide loading ramp instead of being hoisted by cranes. This loading ramp has a capacity of up to 300 tons, enabling fast, safe, and efficient loading and unloading.
Hartman Seatrade’s innovative design allows cargo to be driven directly to the main floor, second decks, and upper deck of the ship.
Piet Brouwer Elektrotechniek took care of the entire electrical installation on board, including:
- Power distribution and propulsion
- Bow and stern thruster control
- Navigation lighting
- Fire and space detection systems
- Camera and telephone systems
- Alarm system (in collaboration with Marble Automation)
With the installation on the Polar Rock, Piet Brouwer Elektrotechniek confirms its expertise in complex maritime installations and its ability to deliver reliable electrical systems for advanced ship types such as Ro-Ro cargo ships.
