Piet Brouwer Elektrotechniek carried out the expansion and upgrade of the distribution system at the Heineken/Nigerian Breweries brewery in Kudenda, Nigeria. Kudenda is located in central Nigeria, just over an hour’s flight from the capital Lagos.
The project started in September 2022 with an initial visit to assess the work. The installation was modified and expanded in phases, after which the system was handed over to the customer in May 2024, ready for operation.
A major challenge here was the decoupling, relocation and reconnection of two existing transformers within a very short time frame. Because only limited use could be made of emergency generators – which were connected to the same switch boxes – the entire operation had to be prepared in detail.

- Relocation and reconnection of two existing transformers.
- Supply and installation of high- and low-voltage cabling.
