November 7, 2019: Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has won the contract for the engineering and installation of the entire electrical system for the rebuild of a 43-metre motoryacht. Piet Brouwer will also supply the alarm & monitoring, navcom and AV/IT systems.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology will have a leading role in this rebuild and be responsible for the engineering and installation of all electrical systems. The company will also take care of the LED lighting and entertainment systems, as well as all navigation and communication equipment. The AMCS system will be supplied in collaboration with sister company Marble Automation.
The lighting system on the yacht will feature a network based on Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI), an internationally recognised and globally supported standard for the effective and intelligent installation and management of lighting. The most important advantages of this system are a simplified but super-flexible installation and enhanced ease of use for the owner. Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has selected a number of specialised suppliers so as to guarantee the highest quality in terms of lighting and control.
The DALI system implements various smart applications related to comfort, safety and energy saving. The use of smart sensors ensures the lights only come on when desired or necessary, with the amount of light set by the DALI controllers based on time of day and conditions. The crew can also determine the right atmosphere for a given moment according to pre-programmed settings at the push of a button. This allows, for instance, the lounge to be used for a business meeting, a romantic dinner or watching a movie.
Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology has already started working on the yacht, and delivery is planned for mid-2020.
