Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology building installation on fourth Arklow vessel by Royal Bodewes

The Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology team has started with an installation project on the Arklow Ranger, the fourth of a series of seven6,800 DWT Arklow vessels. The Royal Bodewes shipyard chose to partner with Piet Brouwer Electrotechnology to take care of all engineering, panels, installation and commissioning.

The remaining delivery scope includes the complete electrical propulsion for the bowthruster, the generator shaft, the monitoring of various tanks, a UMS alarm system and a LED lighting package. The programming of the alarm and monitoring system will be in the hands of our sister company Marble Automation.

Project manager Lub Visser says that he most enjoys the work which is carried out onboard: “We start with the engineering before beginning the installation process. Our team of enthusiastic mechanics can finish the entire electrical system in just 20 weeks.”

Arklow Racer, Arklow Rally and Arklow Rambler were delivered to their new owner, Irish shipping company Arklow Shipping, following successful sea trials.
